Cycling in Bangkok – Hua Lamphong Railway Station to Siam Center

Bright Saturday mornings are made for cycling in Bangkok — calm canal paths, lively markets, heritage railway views, and a smooth finish in the buzzing Siam district.

This 3.25 km Bangkok cycling route blends everything we love about exploring the city on two wheels: peaceful waterside paths, everyday local life, unexpected shortcuts, and grand downtown landmarks. Filmed at 9:30 AM, this ride captures Bangkok waking up, a perfect moment when light traffic, morning shadows, and friendly vendors create an inviting atmosphere for cyclists.

📍 Start: Hua Lamphong Railway Station — Bangkok’s Heritage Terminus

Our journey begins at the legendary Hua Lamphong Railway Station, an architectural icon and one of Bangkok’s most historic transport hubs. With its curved façade and old-world charm, it’s the perfect contrast to the modern city we’ll soon ride into.

🌊 Krung Kasem Canal Path — Slow, Peaceful & Relaxing

From Hua Lamphong, we cross the nearby canal bridge and join Krung Kasem Road, where the city slows down. The dedicated canal-side cycle path offers a peaceful escape, with reflections and shaded sections that foster a feeling of calm for riders.

Continuing along the canal, we reach Bobae Bridge 2, a familiar landmark for cyclists and local commuters alike.

🛒 Local Market Shortcut — Everyday Bangkok Life

One of the highlights of this ride is a brief stop at a lively local market past Bobae. Expect vibrant carts, fresh produce, chatting aunties, and bustling vendors-an authentic glimpse into Bangkok’s daily life that sparks connection and curiosity.

This market shortcut is a sensory moment with colours, aromas, and quick smiles as you pedal gently through.

We then approach an active train track crossing, a typical urban feature in Bangkok. Always look left, right, and listen before crossing to stay safe. This moment highlights the blend of modern infrastructure and historic charm that makes cycling in Bangkok unique.

🛕 Wat Borom Niwat Alley

After the tracks, the route turns into Wat Borom Niwat Alley, a peaceful, narrow lane lined with local homes. This area is perfect for photos thanks to its soft light and quieter surroundings.

🛣️ Rama I Road — Into the Heart of the City

From the alley, we join Rama I Road, a major artery that leads directly into Bangkok’s modern shopping district. The closer we get to Siam, the bigger the contrast becomes with skywalks, malls, street food stands, and pedestrian activity all rising in intensity.

This final stretch feels like entering a different city entirely.

🎉 Finish: Siam Center — Modern Bangkok at Its Brightest

Our ride ends opposite Siam Center, one of the busiest intersections in downtown Bangkok. From heritage railway buildings to market lanes and modern malls, this short route delivers a surprising mix of Bangkok’s many personalities.
