What You’ll Experience on the Tour

What We'll Do

Join us for a relaxed cultural bike tour through Bangkok's historic neighbourhoods, where everyday local life unfolds at street level.

We'll begin in Talat Noi, one of Bangkok's oldest riverside communities, known for its narrow alleys, traditional Chinese shophouses, street art, and historic shrines. From there, we'll cycle through the surrounding backstreets, where daily life unfolds right outside people's homes and shops, with the sounds of conversation, cooking, and workshop activity drifting through the narrow lanes.

Along the way, we'll stop at a local Chinese shrine to learn about spiritual traditions and make a small offering for good health and protection — a meaningful glimpse into Bangkok's community life.

Next, we'll ride into the lively streets of Chinatown, where market stalls spill onto the pavements, and the aromas of street food drift through the air.

We'll then explore Pak Khlong Talat Flower Market, Bangkok's largest flower market, where the air fills with the scent of fresh jasmine, roses, and marigolds as workers move bundles of flowers through narrow aisles crowded with colour and activity. Flowers arrive here from across Thailand throughout the day, creating a constantly shifting atmosphere of fragrance, movement, and colour.

Crossing the Chao Phraya River together, we'll cycle into Thonburi, the historic 18th-century former capital of Thailand. The atmosphere changes here, with quieter streets, canals, and temple grounds replacing the faster pace of Chinatown. The sound of passing boats and temple bells begins to replace the traffic and market noise of the city centre. As we explore, we'll visit peaceful local temples, learn about Thai Buddhist traditions, and even feed turtles in a temple pond.

Our ride continues along a scenic riverside cycle path, passing local homes and smaller communities rarely visited by tourists. To finish the experience, we'll hop aboard a local river ferry and enjoy the cool breeze and river views as we make our way back across the Chao Phraya.

Throughout the tour, we'll show you a slower, more connected side of Bangkok shaped by neighbourhood life, culture, riverside communities, and everyday movement beyond the main tourist areas.

Here are the most common questions we receive about our Bangkok bike tours. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Not sure which Bangkok tour is right for you?

Compare all Bangkok bike and walking tours here.

Are your tours suitable for everyone?

Yes! As long as you have some basic cycling experience, our tours are designed to be easy-going, with a slow pace and frequent refreshment stops.

Can children go on the tour?

Absolutely! Our tours are family-friendly. Parents must take full responsibility for their children. We recommend booking a private tour so we can tailor the route and pace to suit your family.

Is it too hot to cycle in Bangkok?

Surprisingly, it’s usually more comfortable than people expect. You’ll often feel a cooling breeze while riding, and Bangkok is very flat, so there are no hills to climb.

Is it safe to cycle in Bangkok?

Many of our guests say they feel safer cycling in Bangkok than at home. Drivers are generally aware of cyclists, especially in groups. Our routes mainly follow quiet back streets and local neighbourhoods, and your guide is always focused on your safety.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

Helmets are not mandatory in Bangkok, but we strongly recommend wearing one. We provide helmets free of charge.

How big are the groups?

To prioritise safety and a more personal experience, we limit our group size to a maximum of 8 guests. If you have a larger group, please contact us to arrange a private tour.

What should I wear?

We recommend lightweight, comfortable clothing and sensible closed shoes. Please avoid flip-flops or sandals. If your tour includes temple visits, clothing should cover shoulders and knees out of respect.

What do I need to bring?

Just bring a big smile! We recommend avoiding handbags for comfort while riding.

What happens if it rains?

No worries! Rain in Bangkok is often short and localised. If it rains during the tour, we provide complimentary ponchos and take shelter until it passes.

Do I need to book in advance, or can I just turn up?

Our tours are popular and often fill up, so we recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance.

How long does a booking confirmation take?

After booking online, you’ll receive an automatic email confirming we’ve received your request. We will then reply within 12 hours to confirm your tour or suggest an alternative if needed.

Where is the meeting point?

After booking, we’ll send detailed directions by email. Please check your inbox so you arrive at the correct meeting location.

What happens if I’m late?

If you’re running late, please call us at +66 (0)8 7059 1130. The tour may start without you, but we’ll do our best to reschedule you depending on availability.

How do I pay?

Payment is made in cash (Thai Baht only) at the meeting point before the tour begins. Please try to bring the correct amount.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or change your booking, please inform us at least 24 hours before the tour. This helps us offer spaces to other guests and manage our schedule.

We have done bike tours all over the world and this was one of the very best we have ever done. Our guide Mam was absolutely incredible — enthusiastic, knowledgeable, kind and very careful. Her English is so fabulous you have no problem understanding her. This tour gives you such a great look at so many aspects of Bangkok.

"Forget the Big Names — This is the Best Personal Bike Tour in Bangkok!"

After several tours with well-known companies I decided to try something different and booked with Follow Me. Best decision I could have made. Sugar is a fountain of knowledge with a fantastic sense of humour — his passion for the city is infectious. We were a group of just two, which felt like VIP service. Follow Me offers incredible value. If you want a tour that feels like a personal adventure rather than a tourist conveyor belt, look no further.
