Most of our guests are here at the beginning or the end of their holidays and the time spent in Bangkok is mostly no longer than 2 nights. So when you come back from your bicycle tour in Bangkok you wonder what else is there to do to spend an afternoon or morning.

Some of the below are a few of my favorite things to do in Bangkok but there are of course 1000′s of things to do that might suite others even more.

A Bicycle Tour with Follow Me BIke Tours

A few hours at the Dusit Zoo in the City of Bangkok

A swim at Siam Water Park. It is also an amusement Park and had a Guinness World record for its biggest wave pool in the World

Dinner or just a Drink on one of the many popular roof terraces around Bangkok. The most famous one would be sirocco at the State Tower. However if you like it a bit more cozy I would recommend the one at the Banyan Tree Hotel called Vertigo.

A visit to the World Famous Jatujak Weekend Market located just a few minutes walk from the sky train station.

Our friends over at http://migrationology.com have come up with their favorite 101 things to do in Bangkok. We urge you to have a read HERE to get the best out of what Bangkok has on offer. Its a great list that has not left out anything.

Romance I hear you think? No nothing like that at all.

The beauty of running this company is meeting people from all walk of life. You get the young and eager ones, the retired couples enjoying traveling around the world, the Married couples that spent their honeymoons in Thailand, the broken up singles that are out for adventure and soaking it all up to forget about their past and of course the rich and famous as well as the hard working families that save up all year to get out with their loved ones and to whom every penny counts. In the short period that we have been opened I could most likely write a book already. It would not be that thick but certainly very entertaining to read… By starting up this company I even got together again with an old friend from Holland with whom I used to play with in kindergarden but since than never seen again till just over a year ago. Seeing each other again after 35 years was certainly a fantastic experience.

Life can just be so rewarding and the joy in running this company together with my partner Mr. David has been a life changer. Obviously not right from the beginning but over time it just gets better as long as you, yourself, keep believing.

In March of 2012 we had a customer on tour and his name was Mr. Daniel from Singapore. The one thing that struck me about him was the way he was seated on his bike and did not want any help setting up his bike. He was about 160 cm tall but chose an 16 inch Mountain bike with the saddle at its lowest position. He was literally cycling with he legs up his chin. LOL!!! When I asked him about this he simply respond by saying: ”I missed my joga session and need to make up for lost time”

This is one of those situation you will not forget ever!

Coming back from his tour 4 hours I asked him how it went after handing him a cold refreshing towel and he was simply jumped of his bike and hugged me! Ray he said.. this is one of the best things I have ever done and will never ever forgot this trip! Its amazing!!!! Really would like to get back on the iron horse and do the next tour you have available. Unfortunately it was the end of the day and the BBQ was roasting while all guests were enjoying a beer, relaxing by the pond. I remember very well the giggling at the Fish Spa we have for customers to relax their feet after a long ride…. For sure Daniel was the loudest voice out there…. He truly is enjoying life to the max and takes any opportunity given and truly living his life! The day came to an end and back-office work time kicks in meaning collecting pictures taken by the guides and prep them in order to email them to the clients that were on tour that day. Me thinking the day had ended I was far from being right!

“Bling Bling” my computer barked at me: Hi this is Daniel and just got your tour pictures 2 minute ago. I can’t make a decision on what picture I want in High-Ressolution so please email me them all in full size as I am still having the taste in my mouth of the markets we stopped to taste different dishes of food, sipped cold coconut juice and smelled the scent of the flower markets we cycled through……

Weeks went by and I received an email from Daniel…. The super hyper & positive client from Singapore with I whom since have become friend with.

“Ray”… I want to set up my own company in Singapore. Me replying: Not sure what you mean thought you have your own company already. No “Ray” he replied…. I have been thinking about your tour non stop and am thinking about a way to make tourists just as happy and welcoming to my country as you made me feel when I attended your tour. I want to be what you are doing but in Singapore. My own business is for income, the bike tour company I want to start to ensure people that come to Singapore enjoy my country and having a Fantastic time doing it!

To skip a few chapters it did not take long for him to get started up, set his routes and get the website build up. The name is awesome. Its actually the 2nd name Dave and I had on our list. Not long ago his dream became reality and he started up “Let’s Go” bike tours in Singapore. Its in fact the 1st of its kind in Singapore and the routes are amazing! Been on his tour myself and can highly recommend it! So what to do when in Singapore? Go on a tour with them!

A pioneer in many ways Co van Kessel has passed away in the early morning of July 15th, 2012.

Co van Kessel who started with his bike tours over 25 years ago in Bangkok became an instant hit.

Met Co myself 12 years ago when I read something about cycling in Bangkok. After reading an article I could not wait to go on a adventure with him. It was one of the best days I had in all my 17 years here in Bangkok.

Thank you Co van Kessel for giving so many people enjoyment on your special and original tours.

Will remember you forever…..

Rest in Peace Co…

R.I.P Co van Kessel

Rest in Peace Co…

The 3 seasons in Thailand/ Bangkok are Cool, Hot & the Rainy. From December till January is the so called Cool season. February till May is the Hot season with April 26th being the hottest day of the year.
The rainy season is from June to November.

How does the Rainy season affect the daily tours? Tours will depart daily just as during any other season. Rainy season does not mean that it rains the whole day Non-Stop. At most we have 1 hours at the time per day but at most days the rain won’t last longer than 10-20 minutes. The rain is also rather very local. Yes, even within Bangkok it might rain in one district but the next if perfectly dry. If e.g. you are Located at the Marriott Hotel on Sukhumvit and it rains, most likely there won’t be any rain where we are located. And we are only 10 minutes away.

In case it really does not stop raining or we are caught in the rain during a ride we always have Rain Coats with us. In most cases we shelter for 10 minutes and carry on.

The best thing about the rain in Bangkok is that it is not cold. Consider it like a warm shower.

If you are still not sure please visit our Facebook page and have a look at the time line. www.facebook.com/followmetours

Happy Biking!!

In April, as all other years, tourist visiting Thailand always have the 1 question. What do I do when in Bangkok. If I walk out will I get wet.. shall I stay in for 3 days? Or go out and get blasted? Correct I would say! Its the Thai New Year and Thai people will have their say in means of water: Cold water, Spicy water, Stone cold water or just hyper cold water. Whatever means to get you wet …
read more

In April, as all other years, tourist visiting Thailand always have the 1 question. What do I do when in Bangkok. If I walk out will I get wet.. shall I stay in for 3 days? Or go out and get blasted? Correct I would say! Its the Thai New Year and Thai people will have their say in means of water: Cold water, Spicy water, Stone cold water or just hyper cold water. Whatever means to get you wet they will use.

NOW! Get out and explore the city, despite the great Thai people flooding you with water, you can in fact have great fun! Just adopt and get ready for it!

When Follow Me Bangkok Bike Tours started its operations in March 2011 we knew Songkran is coming up and we had the best fun in Town! “Rock, Cycle and Load!” Instead of a backpack trial do take one of our Water Bazooka’s (UN approved water guns) that compete with “must to have” devices out there!

This doesn’t mean that Follow Me Bangkok Bicycle Tours is focussing on getting wet! We will still be giving you the opportunity in arranging a dry bike tour! If you decide to book a cycle tour with follow me and choose the Siam Sawan you won’t feel a splatter… On the island across the river located in another province you will notice that most locals are from Burma and celebrate their New Year 2 weeks later!!

Have Fun, Relax and feel Thailand!
